- 1 loaf brioche bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Butter (for greasing)
- Brown sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Cut the brioche into thick slices and arrange in the greased baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring it’s soaked.
- Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the soaked bread before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- It can be prepared the night before for an easy brunch dish.
- Serve with maple syrup or fresh fruit if desired.
