Description

Delicious homemade donuts topped with a sweet glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 6-cavity donut pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. Pipe or spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes. Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then move to a wire rack.
  7. Mix glaze ingredients in a bowl until smooth and slightly thick.
