Description

This delicious skillet recipe combines ground turkey with Brussels sprouts, sautéed onion, and garlic for a quick and healthy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for sautéing the aromatics.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing them until they become translucent and fragrant, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook it, breaking it apart, until it is fully browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Stir in the halved Brussels sprouts along with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes, mixing everything well for even seasoning.
  5. Pour in 1/4 cup of chicken broth, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are tender, steaming them gently.
  6. Remove the lid, stir in the lemon juice to add brightness and a fresh flavor before serving.
