Description

A deliciously creamy pasta dish with smoked sausage and Cajun seasoning.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add sliced sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in Cajun seasoning and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer; cook for about 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of Cajun seasoning.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
