Description

A delicious and creamy avocado sauce that is perfect for dipping or topping dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 2 green onions, very thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lime juice (see notes)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (see notes)
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt (or more)
  • 2 teaspoons Green Tabasco sauce (or more if you like it spicy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Cut avocados in half, remove seeds, and dice. Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh into the bowl of the food processor (with the metal blade in place).
  2. Add the thinly sliced scallions and lime juice and process until the scallions are finely chopped and the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Add the buttermilk, celery salt, Green Tabasco sauce, and ground cumin and process until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Taste to see if you want to add more Green Tabasco or celery salt.
  5. Serve right away or chill for a few hours before using.
  6. Leftover Easy Creamy Avocado Sauce will last several days in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Fresh-squeezed lime juice enhances flavor.
  • This recipe can be adjusted according to spice preference by varying the amount of Green Tabasco sauce and celery salt.
