Description

A quick and delicious side dish of green beans sautéed in garlic and butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups green beans (fresh, trimmed)
  • 1 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • pinch chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat for a minute or two until it’s nice and hot.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter to the skillet, letting it sizzle and melt.
  3. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Toss in 2 cups of fresh, trimmed green beans, letting them soak up that garlic butter.
  5. Sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper; adjust based on taste.
  6. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the green beans are tender-crisp.
  7. Remove from heat and add a pinch of chili flakes or 1 tablespoon of lemon juice if desired.
